A Tribute...to the late JF Blanco
Jan Floyd Blanco.
I first met "JF" when I was in first year college.
He was just another one of my blockmates.
After awhile, we started hanging out at his dorm.
Everyday Me, Mike and JF would be at his dorm..
Sometimes with other blockmates.
Everyone loved JF.
He always loved to sing and strum on his guitar.
He called himself intro boy because he only knew the intro to some of the greatest songs ever written.
I would hang out at JF's until I had to go home.
He sung at my 18th birthday party and he even has a whole page to himself in my album.
He loved singing "jeepney" by sponge cola with Justin and "Ako'y sayo at ika'y akin (lamang)"
He would be the first to start jamming sessions and the whole class would sing along.
He would talk to anyone and everyone.
He would listen to peoples problems.
Try to give people advice.
When he passed in IMC (a communications course at my school)...
he was so happy he ran around the CAS garden (school grounds)
saying yes! yes! with matching hand motions.
He was one of the best in our section: SDL.
He was smart.
He danced.
He knew how to make people feel better and smile.
He tried to help Clark out with me.
Mission Failed.
He tried to help Justin out with me.
Mission Failed.
He helped Mike out with me.
Mission accomplished.
Thanks JF.
He always seemed like he understood exactly what you meant.
He always knew the lyrics to my favorite songs.
He loved music.
He was a good performer.
He had cool blue contacts.
He loved taking pictures. (w/ or w/o shades)
He had a distinct laugh when he thought something was really funny.
He loved telling corny jokes.
He loved doing magic tricks.
He loved asking weird questions.
Our last conversation was about how he liked Lady's Choice Peanut Butter in Kare-Kare, thats what his mom buys (July 16, monday)
He really liked a lot of pretty girls at school.
One of them loved him back. (I hope he knows now)
His first love was a girl named Reyna from his high school.
His last few days were full of good deeds.
He really deserves someone great.
He was a GREAT friend.
He was a GOOD person.
In one of his blogs he wrote that he felt incomplete and he wanted someone to care besides friends and family.
JF we all really loved and appreciated you.We CARED. I never knew that you had those feelings.I wish I could have talked to you before and reminded you of how much everyone loved you. I should have asked you how you were doing. I should have told you not to stress out so much on documentary editing and have begged you to get some sleep.
But, God loves you more.
You'll be in a place of unending happiness as you should be.
Even as my heart aches, I'll try to be happy for you.
I know you are in a better place now.
You have probably experienced true happiness by now.
We will miss you.
Rest in Peace my friend.
You will always be in our thoughts and prayers.
**pic was taken on the last day we saw him. July 16, 2007
